As a result of this experience, University of Connecticut Discovery Students will understand the basic concepts and principles of leadership, explore, define, and develop personal values, and begin to take an active role in positively influencing the university community and beyond.

Join us for “Filing with VITA: Your Path to Refunds”, a free tax filing event designed to help you file your taxes accurately and on time. Whether you’re filing for the first time or need assistance, our dedicated team of IRS-certified volunteers will guide you through the process. This event is open to students and their families with low to moderate incomes. We provide expert assistance with tax preparation, answer your questions, and ensure your return is filed correctly. Plus, we’ll help you explore all available credits and deductions.

Have you ever thought about studying abroad but don’t know where to start? Have questions but don’t know where to find the answers because you’re at a regional campus? Have no fear a Global Student Mentor (GSM) is here! UConn’s Experiential Global Learning office will be hosting open office hours with Sarah Frances, one of this year’s Global Student Mentors. The role of a GSM is to help students navigate the early steps of studying abroad with UConn through pre-advising meetings where students come to ask questions and find support. Stop by and get your questions about studying abroad answered on Monday April 14th from 1:30pm-4:30pm.

An Easter Egg Hunt for college students is a fun and effective way to help them de-stress and take a break from the pressures of academic life. It provides a lighthearted physical activity that can reduce anxiety, improve mood, and offer a much-needed recharge. The event also fosters a sense of community by encouraging students to socialize and bond outside of the classroom. Organizing the hunt in teams promotes collaboration and helps students build stronger relationships and teamwork skills. Additionally, offering prizes adds excitement and motivation, making the event more rewarding. For the prizes, we were thinking of offering items that students might not normally see or get here, as well as including candy, self-care items, and a painting section where they can paint paper mache eggs. Overall, the Easter Egg Hunt is a great way to relieve stress, build connections, and create a more balanced, enjoyable college experience.

Do you know UConn Extension? UConn Extension is the outreach department of the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources (CAHNR). Located in 8 county Extension Centers and at UConn Avery Point, Extension strengthens communities and provides experiential education and resources to CT citizens. This “Exploring Extension” Pop-up Event will allow UConn students to learn about career opportunities via Extension and the ONE Health Initiative to improve human, animal, plant, and environmental health and sustainability.
